Sorry, Derek! This is the English translation:

Why I am writing this post? It is not just because I agree with the EFF's idea as a matter of principle, but also because I remember Stallman's words:

We can't take the future of freedom for granted. Don't take it for granted! If you want to keep your freedom, you must be prepared to defend it.

Perhaps it seems it is too far away from here, probably it is still not too scary, but we should never forget what happened with the software patents. There is a threat yet. We should never forget the most disgraceful idea of one past democratic (Bulgarian) government - for the Internet licensing. The politics, the system, the Matrix will be always ready to squeeze and limit our freedoms. There will be a day when somebody will want to stop some blog or a blogger, just because he (or she) don't like it or because of his business, or just because he can. This will be perfect for somebody else to solve his problems too, or to make some extra money. Third one will be scared and will begin to censor himself. How far away we are from this? How much and what exactly keep us far away from the moment when some press or electronic media or company will feel itself threatend from the competition of the free points of view all over the Net... If that didn't happen today yet - how impossible is this tomorrow?

The only way to save ourselves is to keep on writing - and will never stop - to keep sacred and emphatically our rights to talk/write what we have in mind, the same what we think - and never give up to the censorship even from ourselves.

The Internet is free medium of communication of ideas! There is a place for everyone and everybody and no any rules, any lawsuits or any lawyers should have the right to limit our rights to think, to create, to discuss, to argue, to be free and to be what we are!

Dear Yovko,

I noticed your Blog-a-thon post, but I do not read Bulgarian. Could you translate it into English? We would love to read your story.

Thank you!
