/dev/cryptonet

/dev/cryptonet

Usually I use stunnel to read and send my emails via our FSDL‘s TLS/SMTP or SSL/POP3 proxy. After the upgrade to Fedora Core 2 last week my stunnel didn’t want to start at all. It complained with the message: Unable to open „/dev/cryptonet“. Actually I’ve never had such kind of device on my Linux box. Google also didn’t know anything about that /dev/cryptonet – only one result. Some script that actually was a hint for me…

The problem was very stupid. I found installed hwcrypto.rpm package for hardware crypto devices… probably after the upgrade procedure. I don’t need it and just uninstall it

rpm -e hwcrypto

Everything is OK now.
